We are nearing the end of the school year. Our concerts are completed and we will be keeping all instruments at school from now on. This has been a fantastic year for fifth grade band! The students have worked hard and have learned a lot.
As we enter our final month of school it is time to look forward to next year. All sixth grade students at Clague take a music class. Some of you have chosen choir, a few of you are returning to your roots on string instruments and joining the string orchestra. Most of you are continuing with your band instruments. I wish you all great success at Clague or wherever you choose to go to school next year.
Over these final weeks we are collecting instruments and books, cleaning instruments, preparing final solos for in-class recitals and learning about some special instruments that students can play in middle school including oboe, bassoon and tuba. Summer is the perfect time to make the move from clarinet, saxophone or flute to oboe or bassoon OR to move from a 5th grade brass instrument to tuba. If this interests you, talk to me right away so we can make plans for you to learn over the summer.
I have enjoyed this year together and look forward to seeing many of you in the hallways and in band class at Clague next fall.
